Softball Game Preview: Tucson High Magnet School Badgers vs. Cesar Chavez Champions

The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers will challenge the Cesar Chavez Champions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tucson High Magnet School will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Tucson High Magnet School's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Perry.

Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Camelback 21-9. The Champions haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cesar Chavez got a massive performance out of Nayeli Delgado, who went 4-for-5 with four runs and three RBI. Those four hits gave Delgado a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mariah Flores, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cesar Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Tucson High Magnet School pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Cesar Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Everything went Tucson High Magnet School's way against Cesar Chavez in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Tucson High Magnet School made off with a 14-0 victory.
