Basketball Recap: ACERO Garcia Comes Up Short

ACERO Garcia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victoria Soto Wolves. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 47-44.

Tony Macias had an outrageously good game for Victoria Soto as he went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. Macias is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Guillermo Lopez, who posted five points in addition to six assists and four steals.

ACERO Garcia's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Victoria Soto, they moved to 3-9 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Kelly the next time they take the court. ACERO Garcia will head out to face Kelly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Victoria Soto will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
