Softball Game Preview: Cumberland Dukes vs. Prince Edward County Eagles

The Cumberland Dukes will take on the Prince Edward County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Cumberland and 11 for Prince Edward County.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cumberland's offense. They lost 19-0 to Buckingham on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Prince Edward County also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Nottoway on Tuesday, falling 23-0.

Prince Edward County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Killebrew, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Prince Edward County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11-1.

Cumberland took their win against Prince Edward County in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dukes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
