Baseball Game Preview: Sterling Rangers vs. La Porte Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Sterling will face off against La Porte. The Rangers will host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sterling has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while La Porte will come in with eight straight wins.

Sterling heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell 5-1 to La Porte.

Sterling got a good showing from Caleb Valencia, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

La Porte pushed their record up to 20-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.
