Basketball Recap: 18 Straight Home Victories for Whitharral

Whitharral had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They breezed past the Wellman-Union Wildcats to the tune of 98-29. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Whitharral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Griffin led the charge by going 8 for 12 en route to 21 points and eight steals. That's the most points Griffin has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Sansom, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds.

Whitharral pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wellman-Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.
