Softball Game Preview: Metcalfe County Hornets vs. Fort Knox Eagles

The Metcalfe County Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Fort Knox Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Metcalfe County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Metcalfe County managed to slip by Monroe County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets came up short against the Falcons on Thursday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 24 runs the game before, Fort Knox was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 18-0 to North Hardin.

Metcalfe County's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Fort Knox, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19.

Metcalfe County skirted past Fort Knox 14-13 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
