Basketball Game Preview: Atlee Raiders vs. Hanover Hawks

Atlee is 1-9 against Hanover since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Atlee Raiders will look to defend their home court against the Hanover Hawks at 6:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Atlee took a blow against Deep Run, falling 66-34. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Wildcats are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Hanover came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blue Devils 74-29. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Hanover has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Atlee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Atlee strolled past Hanover in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 57-40. Will Atlee repeat their success, or does Hanover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
