Softball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Berea-Midpark Titans

Avon is 1-6 against Berea-Midpark since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Titans at 4:45 p.m. Avon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Berea-Midpark's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, Avon didn't have quite enough to beat Olmsted Falls and fell 5-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Berea-Midpark came out on top against St. Joseph Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Titans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Titans have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Berea-Midpark and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Avon couldn't quite get it done against Berea-Midpark in their previous meeting on April 3rd as they fell 9-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
