Softball Recap: Eisenhower Takes a Loss

Eisenhower fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Wenatchee on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Cadets were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Nicole Salmanca was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off three doubles, two runs, and one triple while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Zabella Hickenbottom, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Eisenhower is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. As for Wenatchee, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eisenhower will square off against rival Davis at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wenatchee is set to take on their familiar foe Moses Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Mavericks a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
