Football Game Preview: Pe Ell/Willapa Valley vs. Lyle/Wishram

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lyle/Wishram. On Friday they take on Pe Ell/Willapa Valley at Non League @ Pe Ell at 7:00 PM. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley will need to watch out since Lyle/Wishram have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.

Last Saturday, Lyle/Wishram put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Liberty Bell 46-6. Junior Brandon Montoya was the offensive standout of the match for Lyle/Wishram, as he rushed for 258 yards and 5 touchdowns. In fact, with 12 tackles Montoya was a force on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 14-52, which was the final score in Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's tilt against Onalaska. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-28.

Lyle/Wishram's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. We'll see if Lyle/Wishram's success rolls on or if Pe Ell/Willapa Valley are able to steal their positive momentum.
