Basketball Recap: Lakeland's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lakeland extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kristina Ouimette. The Lakeland Thunderbirds claimed a resounding 73-32 win over the Xavier Hawks thanks in part to Ouimette, who went 17 for 28 en route to 40 points along with eight assists and eight boards. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeland's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Evenhouse, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Lakeland is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Xavier, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Lakeland will be playing at home against Antigo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeland is facing Antigo at the right time seeing as Antigo is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Xavier, they will challenge Edgewood at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
