Sierra had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed past the Patterson Tigers to the tune of 27-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won six matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
A big part of Sierra's win came down to the chemistry between Tessa Zalunardo and her top target Priya Dhaliwal. Zalunardo rushed for 64 yards and one score on only six carries while Dhaliwal picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Zalunardo has posted since back in October of 2024. Peyton Duarte made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
One reason for the win was Sierra's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Mia Aguirre and Margeil Garcia, who racked up five sacks between them. Aguirre is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Duarte got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory got Sierra back to even at 9-9. As for Patterson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
