Football Recap: Battle Ground Academy Skates Past Notre Dame with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Battle Ground Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed past the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the tune of 56-7. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Kaedyn Marable continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 101 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 170 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Maddox Porter was in the mix too, providing Battle Ground Academy with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Battle Ground Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Battle Ground Academy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Gavino Villarreal, Jayden Cannon, and Justice Pittman, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Battle Ground Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for Notre Dame, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

As of now, neither Battle Ground Academy nor the Fighting Irish have any future games scheduled.
