Volleyball Recap: Kaylee Mcreynolds Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Wakeland

McKinney hadn't done well against Wakeland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions won by a set and slipped past the Wolverines 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since September 17, 2024.

McKinney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee McReynolds out in front who had 18 digs and three assists. That's the most digs McReynolds has posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Wakeland lost, don't look at Madeline Chen. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and one assist. Stella Sanford also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

McKinney is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Wakeland, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

McKinney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Vista Ridge on the 21st. As for Wakeland, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hebron on the 21st.
