Basketball Recap: Aden Plyman Key Part of a Team Effort in Monarchs Win

Kings Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Exeter proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Kings Christian Crusaders by a score of 63-52. The Monarchs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Exeter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aden Plyman led the charge by going 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Blaine Mcfall was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Kings Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elyas Miro, who posted 18 points and four steals. Miro has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Luke Uphoff also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Exeter and bumps their season record up to 18-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.4% in those games and 26.6% outside of them. As for Kings Christian, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 22-5.

Exeter has already played their next contest, a 61-41 win against Washington Union on the 6th. As for Kings Christian, they will be playing at home against Wonderful College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kings Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season.
