Volleyball Recap: The Oakwood School Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridgecroft, The Oakwood School was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Spartans since September 13, 2019.

The Oakwood School was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 20-25, 25-17, 15-10.

The Oakwood School's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Oakwood School will head out to take on Albemarle School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Lawrence Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
