Preview: Center Point Eagles vs. Pinson Valley Indians
Center Point is 0-10 against the Indians since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Center Point Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Pinson Valley Indians at 7:30 p.m. Center Point is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
While Center Point couldn't quite beat the Mustangs on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 29-point defeat they were dealt on Monday. Center Point fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 51-48.
Meanwhile, Pinson Valley faced the Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinson Valley fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 60-58. It was the first time this season that Pinson Valley let down their fans at home.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Camron Frost, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clyde Walters, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 assists.
Center Point dropped their record down to 0-25 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pinson Valley, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-10.
Center Point came up short against the Indians when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-38. Can Center Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
