Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Cheesemakers vs. New Glarus Glarner Knights

The Monroe Cheesemakers will venture away from home to square off against the New Glarus Glarner Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Monroe took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on East Troy with a sharp 73-52 win. The Cheesemakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, New Glarus narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Belleville 56-53.

The win got Monroe back to even at 5-5. As for New Glarus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Monroe didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against New Glarus in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 75-71 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monroe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
