The Ben Lippen Falcons will head out to take on the Jupiter Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Ben Lippen is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since April 2, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Northside Christian Academy. The two-run effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Sean Lee made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Breon Earle, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Jupiter had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Eagles.
Ethan Trivison looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Griffin Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Graulau, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Jupiter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Broward Prep struck out seven times.
Jupiter's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Ben Lippen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ben Lippen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jupiter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
