Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way

The Heritage Academy Heroes will face off against Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Heritage Academy ended up a good deal behind East Valley Athletes for Christ and lost 59-44. While losing is never fun, the Heroes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Eagles are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way made easy work of Premier Prep- PHHoenix on Friday and carried off an 87-64 victory. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Heritage Academy was taken down by Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way 88-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Heritage Academy was down 55-20.
