Baseball Game Preview: Lisle Lions vs. Wilmington Wildcats

For the second straight game, Lisle will face off against Wilmington. The Lions will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lisle has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 26.

Wilmington hit Lisle with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 11-1 to the Wildcats.

For Wilmington's part, Lucas Rink made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Rink has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Declan Moran was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ryan Kettman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Wilmington has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16-1.
