Softball Recap: Westby Norse vs. Sparta Spartans

After flying high against Black River Falls on Thursday, Westby came back down to earth. The Norse fell just short of the Sparta Spartans by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Norse of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ava Berg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Ava Kreuzer and Haidyn Thurin stepped up to the plate in a big way.
