Baseball Game Preview: Kearny Komets vs. Windward Wildcats

The Kearny Komets will take on the Windward Wildcats in a tournament on Wednesday. Kearny will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Kearny is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Gridley by a score of 8-3 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Komets with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Nicolas Hembera, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Ansel Eaton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Windward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Clark, falling 11-2.

Windward's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Kearny, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
