Basketball Game Preview: Mourning Sharks vs. Dr. Krop Lightning

The Mourning Sharks will face off against the Dr. Krop Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mourning is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Coral Gables on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Sharks were outmatched by the Cavaliers and fell 54-17. The Sharks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.

Dr. Krop played against Norland on Wednesday and lost via forfeit.

Dr. Krop is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. As for Mourning, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Mourning was able to grind out a solid victory over Dr. Krop in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, winning 39-26. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Lightning have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
