Basketball Recap: Green River Comes Up Short

Green River and Wendover squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Green River had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 68-57 to the Wendover Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Pirates have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Green River lost, don't look at Rolando Anguiano. Despite the final result, he shot 56% from the field to rack up 26 points. Anguiano's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Cristian Venzor was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Green River's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Wendover, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-17.

As of now, neither Green River nor Wendover have any future games scheduled.
