Baseball Recap: Tarpon Springs Takes a Loss

Tarpon Springs was the 7-3 winner over Victory Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tarpon Springs Spongers fell just short of the Victory Christian Academy Storm by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Spongers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Victory Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tarpon Springs will head out to square off against Weeki Wachee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Weeki Wachee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Tarpon Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. After both having extra time off, Victory Christian Academy and Lake Gibson will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Victory Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
