Baseball Recap: Bonners Ferry Comes Up Short

Bonners Ferry had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-12 to make it six. They lost 10-0 to the Timberlake Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Badgers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Timberlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Timberlake's part, Eric Wylie made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Wylie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryker Brennan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Zach Blansfield was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Timberlake beat Bonners Ferry by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday.
