Greenfield/Northwestern took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Gillespie Miners 2-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Greenfield/Northwestern got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 19-25, 25-19.

Adeline Lansaw paced Greenfield/Northwestern's offense, picking up eight kills. Lansaw got some help from Gracin Costello and her 12 assists.

Greenfield/Northwestern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Madison on the 26th. As for Gillespie, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Father McGivney Catholic on the 28th.
