Baseball Recap: Carterville Takes a Loss

Carterville and DuQuoin squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Carterville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 6-5. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Drake Capie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Swallers, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Carterville's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for DuQuoin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-14.

As of now, neither Carterville nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
