It was a proper cat-fight when Logan County challenged Franklin-Simpson on Wednesday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Wildcats. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory on May 6th.

Tate McLean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Logan County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tripp Wadlington, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Drew McLellan was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

The win made it two in a row for Logan County and bumps their season record up to 22-12. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Franklin-Simpson, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-14.

As of now, neither Logan County nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
