Baseball Recap: Sequoia Ravens vs. Los Altos Eagles
Sequoia and Los Altos squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Sequoia had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 two weeks ago.

Morgan Winfield was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Sequoia is 8-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-11 otherwise. Winfield was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Winfield wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Abrams, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Sequoia has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Los Altos, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-8.
As of now, neither Sequoia nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
