Football Game Preview: Lawrence-Nelson Raiders vs. High Plains Storm

The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders will take on the High Plains Storm on Friday. Lawrence-Nelson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Lawrence-Nelson played against Nebraska Lutheran on Friday and won via forfeit.

High Plains is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-34 win over Giltner. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

High Plains didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Chase Owens led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Carson Swedenburg also rushed for 110 rushing yards, which is notable because High Plains is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Camden Mattox got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got High Plains back to even at 3-3. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
