Baseball Recap: Lakewood Park Christian Comes Up Short

Lakewood Park Christian had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it 12. They lost 12-2 to the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Braves from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lakewood Park Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Stoll, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's side, Jacob Jackson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Jackson posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Max Warner and Brady Ellington did most of the damage at the plate: Warner went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Ellington went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Ellington a new career-high. Owen Saleik also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Coming up, Lakewood Park Christian will square off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they will challenge Fort Wayne Northrop at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
