Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lynchburg HomeSchool). They put the hurt on the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes with a sharp 53-27 win on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Timberlake Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Elsie Smyth posted 11 points.

Lynchburg HomeSchool moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Timberlake Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynchburg HomeSchool will face off against State Line HomeSchool R at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Timberlake Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Temple Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
