Softball Recap: Lyman Memorial Takes a Loss

Lyman Memorial extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-9 in the process. They came up short against the Ledyard Colonels, falling 16-6. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Colonels from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Ledyard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

For Ledyard's part, Mackenzie Caise was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Caise a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Starling, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Coming up, Lyman Memorial will host Stonington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ledyard, they will venture away from home to square off against Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
