Volleyball Preview: Rocky Mount Gryphons vs. Southern Nash Firebirds        
        
		
             The Rocky Mount Gryphons will face off against the Southern Nash Firebirds at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rocky Mount has struggled recently with 11 defeats in a row, while Southern Nash will arrive with three straight  victories.
 Rocky Mount came up short against  Roanoke Rapids on Tuesday, falling  3-0.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12,  25-10.
 Despite their  loss, Rocky Mount saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Braylie Phillips, who  had 25  assists, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of  Trinity Dunn, who  had nine  kills and three  digs.
 Meanwhile, Southern Nash got the win against Bunn  on Tuesday by a conclusive  3-0.
 Southern Nash's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Bunn between 16 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17,  25-18.
 Rocky Mount's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Southern Nash, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record  this season.
 Rocky Mount suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Southern Nash  in their previous meeting  back in September. Can Rocky Mount avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
