Baseball Recap: Granite Bay Victorious

Granite Bay won against Oak Ridge on Wednesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Grizzlies walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Trojans. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Cole Griffin tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Bystrowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Pops, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Granite Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Granite Bay's record is now 10-14. As for Oak Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Granite Bay has already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against Jesuit on the 28th. As for Oak Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Rocklin on the 28th.
