Baseball Recap: Beech Grove Comes Up Short

Beech Grove extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 9-8-1. They lost 9-1 to the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on Wednesday.

Beech Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bishop Moore, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Tri-West Hendricks, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Tri-West Hendricks' side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Lackman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Zack Baute was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Beech Grove will face off against Lapel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they will square off against Westville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
