Basketball Game Preview: Caprock Academy Eagles vs. De Beque Dragons + How To Watch

The Caprock Academy Eagles will head out to take on the De Beque Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Caprock Academy will be strutting in after a win while De Beque will be coming in after a defeat.

Caprock Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Vail Mountain, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Eagles blew past the Rangers 51-30 on Saturday. 51 seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

De Beque has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Plateau Valley at home by a 58-43 margin on Friday. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Caprock Academy will need to focus on slowing down Trenton Sandidge, one of several De Beque players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6-for-11 on his way to 14 points. Thanks to that strong game, Sandidge now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Carman, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds.

De Beque's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Caprock Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Caprock Academy lost to De Beque on the road by a decisive 56-42 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
