On Tuesday, Malcolm faced Beatrice in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Malcolm Clippers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 win over the Beatrice Orangemen. Winning may never get old, but Malcolm sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mason Wisnieski was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits. Wisnieski was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.

Malcolm will play host again on Friday to welcome Arlington, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Arlington is coming into the match with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Malcolm will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Beatrice, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wahoo/Bishop Neumann at 4:30 p.m.
