Preview: Upsala Cardinals vs. Ogilvie Lions
The Upsala Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Ogilvie Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Upsala will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Ogilvie is ranked 111th).
Last Friday, Upsala lost to Osakis on the road by a decisive 51-37 margin. Upsala has struggled against Osakis recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Upsala saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hannah Heesen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heesen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isabel Ripplinger, who scored four points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Ogilvie waltzed into their match Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Aitkin 74-48. Ogilvie might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 26 points or more this season.
Upsala has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Ogilvie, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
