Football Recap: Sacred Heart of Jesus Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart of Jesus extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were beaten by the Burroughs Bears 45-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-0 on Monday.

As for Burroughs, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Burroughs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lillian Graham, who threw for 100 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 54 yards. Those three passing touchdowns gave Graham a new career-high. Alyssa Prachasaisoradej was in the mix too, providing Burroughs with two scores.

Looking ahead, Sacred Heart of Jesus will venture away from home to challenge Schurr at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burroughs, they will welcome Santa Monica at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them.
