Volleyball Recap: Abby O'neal and Elizabeth Edenfield Secure Win for Valwood

The Valwood Valiants were able to grind out a solid win over the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Valiants.

Valwood easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20.

Leading Valwood to victory were Elizabeth Edenfield and Abby O'Neal. Edenfield had seven digs and four aces, while O'Neal had 16 assists and three digs. That's the most aces Edenfield has posted since back in August of 2024. Carolyn Griner also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Valwood was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Valwood's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valwood will welcome Tift County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
