Bamberg-Ehrhardt extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders vs. Barnwell Warhorses

The Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Barnwell 46-32. Given Bamberg-Ehrhardt's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Barnwell is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt had a senior duo take command as Isiah Johnson scored 11 points along with five assists and Anthony Williams scored 11 points. Eric Parker was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Barnwell saw an underclassman step up: Vashahd Scofield scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Damahjai Devoe, who scored six points.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Barnwell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Royal Live Oaks Academy at 7:45 p.m. on January 2nd. Barnwell is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Swansea at 9:30 a.m. on December 27, 2023. Swansea is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
