Basketball Recap: Rowe Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest last Friday, Rowe came back down to earth. The contest between the Rowe Warriors and the Pioneer Diamondbacks didn't end well, with the Rowe Warriors falling 57-39. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-31 back in December of 2024.

Pioneer was led to victory by Ebonie Chatman and Anika Fleischmann. Chatman dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Fleischmann dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Chatman has scored at least a third of Pioneer's points. Another player making a difference was Kassandra Garcia, who posted eight points along with six assists and six boards.

Rowe's loss dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Pioneer, their win was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-9.

Rowe will venture away from home to take on Vela at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pioneer, they will welcome Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer is facing Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at the right time seeing as Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
