Leah Kinley leads Genoa Christian Academy to victory over Madison Christian

Recap: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Madison Christian Eagles

Genoa Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Madison Christian by a score of 45-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Genoa Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Leah Kinley, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Schuck, who scored nine points.

Madison Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Wray, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Wray's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Kiley Wray was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Genoa Christian Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Madison Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Granville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northside Christian at 8:00 p.m. Northside Christian is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
