Softball Recap: Georgetown-Ridge Farm Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Georgetown-Ridge Farm's offense. They came up short against the Hoopeston Cornjerkers on Friday, falling 12-0. The Buffaloes just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annistyn Tovey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hoopeston, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown-Ridge Farm will square off against Blue Ridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something the Buffaloes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hoopeston, they will take on Salt Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Storm will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
