Mt. Eden barely beat American the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Mt. Eden was the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over American on Tuesday. Considering the Monarchs have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Shelby Newcomb was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Kailyn Trigos was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Mt. Eden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American only posted an OBP of .300.
