Football Recap: Edinburg North Takes a Loss

Edinburg North extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 21-12 to the Pioneer Diamondbacks. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Pioneer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 34.0 points this season.

William Goodloe had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 105 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. Those 52 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edinburg North will take on Mercedes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pioneer, they will square off against Hanna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
