Basketball Recap: Chaney Piles Up the Points Against Chardon

Chaney's tournament run continued when they took on Chardon on Tuesday. The Chaney Cowboys simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chardon Hilltoppers 76-49. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chaney has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points over those games. As for Chardon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, Chaney will take on Tallmadge at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Tallmadge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Chardon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
